Ayurveda “The science of Life” originated in India more than 5,000 years ago is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems and also called as the “Mother of All Healing”. It is more than just a system of medicine – a way to promote longevity and the harmonious integration by maintaining a delicate balance between body, mind, sense and spirit. According to Ayurveda, the human body is composed of four basics components -the dosha, dhatu, mala and agni.
Ayurveda does not only depend upon the symptoms as related by the person but believes in a thorough examination to discover the root cause of the ailment. According to Ayurveda, suppression of the disease is not the way to cure an ailment. A person can only be said to have recovers from the disease if the root cause of the ailment in eliminated and the body of person starts functioning normally. Thus, instead of finding methods to suppress the symptoms, Ayurveda focus on finding the reasons for the underlying symptoms. Ayurveda places great emphasis on prevention and encourages the maintenance of health through close attention to balance in one’s life, right thinking, diet, lifestyle and the use of herbs. Just as everyone has a unique fingerprint, each person has a pattern of energy -an individual combination of physical, mental and emotional characteristics which comprises their own constitution. This constitution is determined at conception by several factors and remains the same throughout one’s life.
